From Brisbane Airport to Caloundra and Golden Beach
Caloundra and Golden Beach are at the start of the beautiful Sunshine Coast and the area is a simply beautiful place to holiday.
You will be met at the luggage carousel of the Brisbane Airport for domestic flights and in the arrivals hall (after customs and immigration) for international flights by our driver who will have a sign bearing your name and will assist in getting the luggage from the carousel.
A short walk to the vehicle and we will be on our way with your luggage safely secure in the boot and you safely secure in either a Lexus or Audi luxury sedan (or Kia Carnival people mover for up to 7 passengers and luggage).
Then simply, sit back and relax as we exit Brisbane Airport grounds and join the Gateway Motorway for our trip North.
Sights along the way
The two lane motorway takes us past Nudgee and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre and we join the Bruce Highway at the Pine Rivers Bridge.
The three lanes of the Bruce Highway carry us out past Forrest Lakes, Burpengary and then past the Bribie Island/Caboolture turnoff it is back to two lanes for the run to the Caloundra turnoff.
Duck your head and look out for low flying aircraft and gliders as we go past the Caboolture airstrip and travel on past the Glasshouse Mountains (only glimpses), Wild Horse Mountain and lots of pine trees.
We then take the Caloundra turnoff and travel East past Corbauld Park Racecourse (home of Sunshine Coast racing) and its renowned “all weather cushion track”.
We go on past the Caloundra airfield and flying museum and turn right to Pelican Waters and Golden Beach and straight ahead to Caloundra, Dicky Beach and Moffat Beach.
You will be taken to your final destination and assisted with your luggage to the door.
Travel time to Caloundra will be about 1hr 15 minutes in normal traffic.
Peak hour traffic Northbound is from approx. 3.30pm Monday to Thursday and from 2.30pm Friday.
The traffic delays are from the airport to Bribie island/Caboolture turnoff and it is free flowing from there. Allow another 30 minutes travel time during the week and 50 minutes Friday in peak times.
Peak hour traffic Southbound is from 5.30am to 8.30am and is in the same area as Northbound afternoon delays. Allow a further 30 minutes travel.
The big exception to Southbound is Sunday afternoon (or Monday of a long weekend) when traffic congestion starts as early as Caloundra turnoff and continues for the journey right through to Bribie Island/Caboolture turnoff. This can add in excess of 1 hour to the journey.
The office will be aware of any roadwork or local delays (caused by school traffic or events) which may have a further bearing on travel times and adjust pickups to the airport accordingly. You will also be advised and informed throughout the booking process and in the lead up to your journey.
The route map below a general indication of the route and distance. The route we take on the day may differ slightly depending on traffic conditions.
